Description:

To support the Health Care Records Manager with the day to day operations of the entire Health Care Records (HCR) Department. To plan, assign and supervise the workload undertaken by HCR staff with a view to maintaining the highest level of service effectiveness. To define roles, duties and responsibilities of HCR staff and to assist line managers with the preparation of standard operational procedures (SOP) for duties within their areas of responsibility. To liaise with the Human Resources Department in relation to recruitment and selection of staff and to participate on selection panels as appropriate. To be responsible for the deployment of staff assigned to the HCR Department and ensure sufficient training and supports are provided. To identify staff development needs in consultation with the Human Resources Department and be responsible for the induction and development of new and existing HCR staff. To oversee the performance management of HCR staff and support the process throughout. To take responsibility for the ongoing development of HCR within the Hospital with particular emphasis on improving the service users Journey. To review existing systems and structures in consultation with the relevant stakeholders. To actively contribute, participate and ensure compliance with GDPR. Ensure accuracy of information captured on the patient information management system (iPMS). Ensure integrity is maintained to all input data within HCR. Conduct regular reviews of business processes to reflect national requirement and ensure these are reflected on the iPMS. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and ensure HCR staff act professionally when engaging with patients and service users. Review policies and procedures in line with best practice and in accordance with the National Standards & Recommended Practices. Implement National Policies relevant to the Department/ Area. Implement new procedures resulting from changes in legislation. There are currently 3 vacancies in the Healthcare Records Department: 1 x Grade VI Emergency Department Officer 1 x Grade VI Healthcare Records Officer 1 x Grade VI Healthcare Records Officer - GDPR Records Co-Ordinator A panel will be formed from which temporary or permanent Grade VI vacancies within the Healthcare Records Department become availalble.
