As Assistant Technical Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining top-tier food safety and quality standards, supporting audits and compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the site. You’ll work closely with an experienced Technical Manager and gain hands-on exposure to all aspects of technical management – the perfect stepping stone for someone ready to progress their career.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Technical Manager in maintaining the company’s Food Safety Management System, including HACCP.
- Working cross-functionally to ensure food safety, quality, and compliance are achieved to the highest standard.
- Participating in HACCP/TACCP teams and assisting with internal, third-party, and customer audits (BRCGS experience highly valued).
- Leading investigations into customer complaints and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Carrying out internal audits, risk assessments, and system reviews to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Providing technical guidance and supporting site-wide improvement projects.
- Reporting on audit results and quality trends to drive performance and best practice.
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a technical or food safety role within food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of EU & UK food legislation and compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with customer and third-party audits (BRCGS preferred).
- Confident communicator with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- IT-proficient and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
