Broadband Development Manager

 

Description:

Limerick City and County Council is establishing a panel for the position of Broadband Development Manager (Senior Staff Officer)

The Broadband Development Manager is a key role in the Digital Strategy (D.S.) Department, reporting to the Head of Digital Strategy.

Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:

(a) have a 3rd level qualification OR a minimum of 5 years experience with supporting evidence in an area or areas relevant to the position

(b) have proven and relevant experience in administrative procedures including practical experience in work of an administrative nature, and in office organisation

(c) have a good understanding of the various platforms through which telecommunication services can be delivered, as well as the current challenges/barriers facing citizens and businesses in accessing existing telecoms infrastructure

(d) have satisfactory skills in the following areas:

  • project management in a multi-stakeholder environment and within budgetary constraints
  • infrastructure development/deployment and supporting processes (e.g. planning processes, legal/statutory requirements, environmental considerations etc)
  • contract management
  • network design, implementation and support (access points, switches etc)
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • funding applications and models, pricing strategies, competitiveness
  • Non Irish Qualifications must be accompanied by a determination from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) to establish their comparability against the Irish National Framework of Qualifications, overseas qualifications must also be accompanied by a translation document.
