Business Manager

 

Description:

The Business Manager will report to the Executive Business Manager, Office of the Chief Operations Officer and provide support in the delivery of operational functions across the hospital group.

Together with the Executive Business Manager, support the Chief Operations Officer in the development of effective working structures in the SSWHG.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the general administrative support function required to ensure the efficient functioning of the office of the Group COO including supervision of staff.
  • Oversight of the management of filing and storage of documentation from receipt in the office to transmission to other parts of the HSE or external / internal stakeholders.
  • Oversight of the provision of data analytics and reports in key aspects of performance and Operational/Service planning.
  • Provision of business support to the Executive Business Manager and Group COO as required.
  • Manage the smooth running and administration duties for the SSWHG Operations team meetings.
  • Management of all Business Cases received in the SSWHG and ensuring the administration of the Business Case Committee is managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage the smooth running and administration duties of the monthly SSWHG Performance Management process including the development of reports in line with the relevant SSWHG departments.
  • Participate in meetings with the Executive Business Manager and COO as required.
  • Represent the Executive Business Manager at meetings as required and provide cover during periods of leave.
  • Develop effective and co-operative working relationships with all professional groups across the SSWHG.
  • Support the interface between the Office of COO and key stakeholders including public representatives and communication entities;
  • Oversee the preparation of reports on nationally agreed KPIs on a monthly basis and highlight variances to Executive Business Manager/ COO.
  • In conjunction with the Executive Business Manager, responsible for managing the smooth running of the Chief Operations Officer’s Office in a confidential, effective and efficient manner during a time of strategic change and growth.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and support the Executive Business Manager in the accomplishment of all administrative, managerial, and executive duties necessary to support the develop the Chief Operations Officer as a key strategic service unit delivering quality patient care in an efficient, effective, and equitable manner.
  • Preparation of business and support plans for new service developments and / or reconfiguration.
  • Prepare briefing documents, presentations, reports, responses to Parliamentary Questions, media queries and dealing with FOI requests.
