Business Unit Manager

Description:

Required for leading ground improvement specialist based in Cork and are expanding nationwide.

The candidate will oversee day-to-day operation of the business at a management level, to always ensure the smooth running of the company.

The position will suit a candidate with commercial experience with a strong network in civil engineering and/or geotechnical engineering.

Role

Business development and promotion of company in the construction market
 

• Compilation of technical and financial proposal for clients
• Provide technical and commercial guidance to engineers and site staff as necessary
• Oversee projects and ensure successful delivery
• Liaise with the Menard team and administrative staff to ensure the day to day running of the business
• Represent Menard and contribute at technical seminars
   

Requirements:
 

• Degree qualified within a relevant discipline - BEng, MEng, MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering
• 10 years’ experience in a similar management role
• Strong understating of geotechnical design from first principles including but not limited to ground improvement, foundation behaviour, retaining structures and slope stability assessments
• Excellent people management skills and ability to make a team work effectively
• Knowledge of management, procurement, supervision, and interpretation of ground investigations
