My Dublin-based client has a brand-new opportunity for a Cloud & Big Data Architect to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. You will be joining an international organisation with an excellent reputation in the Irish market. This is a newly created role that offers an experienced Architect to take the lead on exciting and innovative Cloud & Big Data projects.
	- Lead the overall strategy, design, and adoption of large-scale Data Analytics and Cloud initiatives
 
	- Understand current requirements and pain points in order to propose appropriate cloud-based architecture for implementation
 
	- Identify and solve design problems of moderate to complex cloud implementation, should independently plan and design solutions, involving potentially conflicting design requirements
 
	- Plan and design innovative solutions to conflicting requirements and design problems
 
	- Review current architecture patterns and system performance to suggest cost-effective solutions
 
	- Collaborate with various teams across the business (Product, Infrastructure, etc.)
 
	- Educate others on design principles and best practices
 
	- Expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing large scale data architecture and big data technologies
 
	- Experience architecting data solutions in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
 
	- Recent experience working on big data implementation projects across multiple regions
 
	- Must be skilled in coding in Python and Spark
 
	- Knowledge and expertise in big data solutions within a cloud environment
 
	- Skilled in architecting production-level workloads (e.g. end-to-end pipeline load performance testing, cloud-based big data platform optimization, etc.)
 
	- Skilled in data governance, compliance, and security
 
	- Ability to develop project plans and budget estimates
 
	- Knowledge of implementing and scaling Machine Learning models would be desirable
