We are recruiting on behalf of our client, for a Health & Safety Officer/ Coordinator. This company is a large supply chain and distribution company based in Dublin City West. Your job as a H&S Officer will be to work as part of a team that focuses on Health and Safety in Warehouse, Distribution and supply chain for over 1,000 staff.

This company is a key provider of healthcare and pharmaceutical products to pharmacy’s, hospitals, and clinics throughout Ireland.

What will this Health & Safety job involves?

You will be working both on site in Dublin West & traveling Nationwide to provide health and safety support for the Supply Chain warehouse distribution depots. You will be co-ordinating maintenance tasks as part of the facilities and maintenance team, and assisting the maintenance manager as required.

What other Responsibilities are involved?

• Updating supply chain depots safety statements and processes
• Carrying out risk assessments
• Maintaining depots risk registers on documentation system and ensuring compliance with section 19 of the health safety and welfare at work act.
• Chairing and convening safety committee meetings.
• Ensuring that safety training is provided and co-ordinating with depots on requirements i.e., manual handling, fire warden, first aid responder, chemical spill response, rescue and working at heights, MEWP.

What are the Requirements?

• 3rd Level qualification (minimum level 7) in health and safety and a manual handling instructor qualification ideally & First aid responder qualification
• VDU/DSE workstation assessor and excellent knowledge of the 2005 Health safety and welfare at work act.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a distribution / warehousing / supply chain multi-site environment
• Good knowledge of chemical safety and fire safety.
• Accident management and incident investigation skills preferably with a formal training qualification
• Full class B driving license
