Description:
A leading tech giant based in Cork are seeking to bolster their team with a talented, self-driven CPU Physical Design Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Applies deep ASIC expertise to define, model, design (digital/analog), optimize, verify, validate, implement, and document IP development for high-performance, low-power products.
- Develops advanced architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs, and system simulations aligned with system-level requirements.
- Partners with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, product, and program management) to build and execute strategies that meet technical and customer requirements.
- Oversees complex design flows, from high-level design through synthesis, place and route, timing/power analysis, verification, and custom circuit/layout design.
- Leverages industry tools (e.g., RTL to GDS Flow, Virtuoso) to architect and design complex SoC/IC solutions; authors and reviews technical documentation, guiding junior engineers.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years in ASIC design/verification/validation/integration, or PhD with 3+ years in the same areas.
- Master’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; 7+ years in ASIC design and related fields; 3+ years with architecture/design tools, scripting/programming, and verification methodologies.
- Provide supervision and guidance to team members while exercising significant decision-making that impacts work beyond the immediate group; consulted by senior leadership on key organizational decisions.
- Communicate complex information effectively through verbal and written channels, often requiring negotiation and influence; independently plans, prioritise, and solve problems in tasks without predefined steps.
