Credit Controller

Optimize Recruitment are partnering with a leading wholesale provider to recruit a Credit Controller for their Cork based office. This is a 6-month maternity cover contract position with the possibility of a 3 month extension.

This is a fully office-based position reporting into the Credit Control & Branch manager. This role will manage and coordinate the ledgers of a large customer base ensuring financial targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the entire ledgers process to ensure positive month end results
  • Manage cash collections and payments of customer invoices
  • Reviewing and following up on debtors
  • Issuing invoices and statements to customers
  • Communicating with customers to manage account queries and resolve payment issues
  • Liaise with sales department in relation to issuing PO’s and completing POD’s signatures
  • Engaging with other branches to resolve customer account issues
  • Clearing dockets regularly
  • Opening new accounts and processing payments from customers for all three Cork branches
  • Managing petty cash for all cork branches
  • Preparation of bank lodgements
  • Any other Ad-hoc duties the department may require.


Key Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ credit control experience with a large customer base
  • Ability to achieve financial objectives and targets
  • Demonstrate good organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
