Student Learning Development (SLD) is seeking to appoint a 0.4FTE Student Learning Development Advisor on a specific purpose basis while the substantive postholder is on career break.

The Student Learning Development Advisor will develop and deliver workshops, implementing best-practice educational and psychological principles. The post holder will manage new initiatives aimed at specific cohorts, for example postgraduate & international students and represent SLD at University working groups where required.

The successful candidate will also provide individual appointments to students to develop their ability to be self-directed learners, coupled with providing a range of proven strategies in academic performance enhancement.

They will be expected to promote and develop SLD services, collaborate with academic staff to embed SLD services in Schools, as well as manage relationships with other University stakeholders. A strong understanding of pedagogy, evidence-based learning strategies and excellent communication skills are all essential, as well as an ability to work effectively within a team.
