Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, the Director, Analyst plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative research which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives. The Director, Analyst is a trusted source of advice for clients, discussing complex client challenges and offering appropriate recommendations.
This role includes both writing and speaking about best practices in Compliance Program Management. Key focus areas include, but are not limited to:
- Transforming and optimizing compliance functions and programs
- Embedding compliance priorities into organization culture
- Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of compliance programs
- Keeping pace with and understanding the impact of complex, changing regulatory environments on organizations’ business models and processes
- Developing risk strategies and frameworks for compliance and regulatory risks
- Leveraging analytics and data to optimize compliance risk assessments and compliance monitoring
What you will do:
As a Gartner analyst, you will engage with clients every day: on the phone, in videoconferences, or even the stage at a Gartner event. To support these conversations you will research practices, trends, and technology and to produce published content for Gartner clients to view online or download and apply. You will:
- Create insightful and actionable research for Heads of Legal and Compliance with best practices and advice on developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs to meet legal and regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency.
- Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas by understanding the broader ecosystem related to compliance program, partnering with experts internally, and learning from our clients’ best practices.
- Maintain Gartner’s industry leadership reputation by thoughtfully responding to press inquiries.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience within legal, compliance or related fields in a corporate, consulting, research, or other setting, including advising, presenting to, and writing for the most senior levels of an organization (e.g., General Counsel, Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer, CEO, and Board of Directors).
- Knowledge of and experience with the chief compliance officer role, the obligations and requirements of compliance & ethics programs, and compliance risk management (risk assessment processes, key stakeholders involved, etc.) in general.
- Familiarity and experience with compliance program management systems and tools for regulatory tracking, policy management, risk assessment, and reporting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adjust style to different audiences.
- Executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a highly matrixed work environment
- Willingness to offer flexible working hours within reason to serve Gartner’s global client base
- Ability to travel on occasion for team offsites and Gartner conferences (<10% of the year)
