We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a background in High Voltage technical design to join the Engineering and Major Projects team—ESB’s centre of engineering.

As a successful candidate, you will join an innovative team providing end-to-end services from feasibility studies to through scoping, planning, design and costing to construction and commissioning. You will have developed strong communication and creative problem- solving skills and a willingness to share knowledge with team members. Along with the freedom to decide how best to tackle technical challenges and solve problems, you will also have the responsibility of supporting the team. Collaboration is key.

In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, you will contribute to increasing our network capacity to deliver renewable energy, and bringing new technologies online to achieve net zero by 2040.

  • Deliver multi discipline projects using Design Framework contractors working on a variety of split contract project methodologies to modern international best practice to deliver PR5 work programme in accordance with ESB’s Strategy, Driven to Make a Difference -Net Zero by 2040.
  • Manage the framework contract to ensure it is delivered according to specification and within budget reviewing contractor performance and resolving any conflict issues.
  • Draw on previous experience and knowledge in the production of scopes of work, technical schedules, price schedules and other documents required to complete packs of enquiry documents, against which tenderers will submit proposals with ability to critically evaluate tenderer’s submissions.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to other Framework team members in all aspects of design review, construction monitoring, test and inspection results, training, development, mentoring and interfacing with stakeholders.
