Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join a world leading Fintech company on a 12 month contract. You will join a team of software engineers developing high quality applications to service the financial trading industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high value products that support our customers in providing excellent financial solutions. Must be a self-starter, able to work well with others, and communicate software changes to business partners, system analysts, QA engineers, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- Strong development experience in some or all of the following (or similar): Angular, Typescript, Java, Spring/Springboot, REST services. (Solid front end development experience is an advantage)
- Continuous Integration - Jenkins/Stash/Git
- Understanding of continuous integration practices and automated deployment tools is a plus
- Test Automation experience is a plus, but not essential (Selenium, Serenity, Cucumber or any other mocking framework)
- Experience of Agile development practices
The Purpose of Your Role
- Your team is currently engaged in a multi-year strategy to design and deliver a range of new functionality
- You will be a senior member of a scrum team responsible for delivering features aligned to this strategy
- You will work closely with the product owner, scrum master, systems analysts, architects, tech leads and other software engineers to design, build, test, and deliver features and to help shape the direction and technical implementation of the product
- You have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at a given time
- You have excellent communication skills
- You thrive in a team environment, collaborating openly with colleagues on shared items of work and communicating effectively
- You can act independently under general direction
- Willingness to explore and learn new technologies
- Help maintain code quality, security, organization, and automation
