Geographic Information Systems Engineer

 

Description:

The primary aim of this position is to gather, oversee, and validate all geographical information pertinent to the project, providing GIS expertise to support project packages.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, geography, surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role (essential experience in OFFSHORE wind/maritime)
  • Proficiency in the QGIS mapping tool
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Based in Poland

 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage daily geographic information in relation to project development and construction.
  • Generate maps and visualizations from diverse data sources.
  • Ensure project deliverables and metadata adhere to prescribed formats.
  • Provide spatial analysis support to project packages.
  • Guide the project in GIS development.
  • Execute geospatial data management using a QGIS model, including collection, validation, analysis, and distribution to stakeholders.
  • Design and integrate databases based on geographical specifications.
  • Identify and rectify errors within GIS networks, software, and hardware components.
  • Conduct 2D and 3D spatial analyses, such as interpreting seabed survey data.
  • Map, visualize, and distribute data for EPCI packages.
  • Continuously digitize and develop internal workflows in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Communicate GIS development with senior managers and executives.
  • Direct the project in the development of GIS and geospatial utilities.
