Description:
The Care Assistant’s/ support worker primary role is to deliver personal care and assistance to a client in the Nursing home. Care Assistants/ support worker are responsible for the implementation of the requirements of the clients care plan, perform identified care duties, and promote client comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.
Your role will include:
- Supporting Senior Carers and Nurses to deliver the best quality care possible in the home.
- Support during mealtimes, be involved in all activities provided by the home to promote our relationship-centered care with building relationships within the care home.
- Assist with ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed, updated and that they are appropriate to the residents needs and reflect the care being delivered.
- Recording and reporting, completing food and fluid charts, or other daily monitoring records.
- Always Following service users’ care plans.
- Positive and meaningful interaction with service users.
- Assisting with the cleaning and tidying of the establishment to help support infection control.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or equivalent.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards) preferable.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Reliable and professional.
- Can work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a positive outlook.
