What is the opportunity?

The Infrastructure Database Engineer with Microsoft SQL Server as the core speciality will have the opportunity to continually modernise, problem-solve and innovate while delivering and supporting a variety of Database Services and Database Management Tools running on industry best-in-class engineered database systems, on virtualised infrastructure and in cloud-based environments.

In this role you will

Contribute to the design of database infrastructure and services, database data protection infrastructure and to the related database tooling in accordance with BOI internal policies and standards and:

• Identify database service consolidation, upgrade and cloud migration opportunities for Microsoft SQL Server database services in particular. Performing hands-on activities to deliver these activities will be required.
• Contribute to the design of database infrastructure and services, database data protection infrastructure and to the related database tooling in accordance with relevant internal policies and standards.

• Identify, document and promote best practices for database architecture and contribute continuous improvement initiatives to drive higher efficiency and performance of the database and database data protection services.

• Develop new reporting routines to highlight performance issues, to determine capacity requirements and to do trend analysis on events and errors.
