Description of project and role: We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative and experienced scientist to coordinate and manage the SFI funded Analytic Understanding of Gut Microenvironment to Enhance New Treatments (AUGMENT) Research Team/Programme. The research aims to understand the triad of diet, microbiome and immune targeted drugs in their interaction to resolve inflammation. This is a leadership role where the successful applicant will both manage the teams’ day-to-day research projects and is also expected to make major scientific laboratory-based contributions to the research goals and milestones.

Required Qualifications/Experience: PhD and greater than 6 years postdoctoral experience in the gut immunology field.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of gut immunology and inflammatory bowel disease
  • Extensive experience with immune cell biology and primary culture of immune cells.
  • Experience with mammalian cell signalling research.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working with human primary gut epithelial organoid culture technology
  • Excellent in vitro and molecular biology skills (cell culture, transcriptomics, IF, WB, cytokine analysis).
  • The candidate should be knowledgeable, highly motivated, creative, and collaborative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Record of publication in a well-recognized journal(s).
