Description:
Maintenance Technician is responsible for the executing, monitoring and recording of the maintenance breakdowns and breakdown follow ups.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering a high-quality maintenance service to production, must ensure that maintenance works efficiently, effectively, safely and in line with the maintenance strategy
- Execution of the preventive maintenance & Condition Based program
- Providing maintenance support, entering data, updating equipment records, produce performance reports & participating in continuous improvement follow up
- Electrical & Mechanical troubleshooting
- Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, also pneumatic & hydraulic control systems
- Technical support for the plant facilities and services, including compressed air, refrigeration & steam.
- Perform PM routines/ Regular Maintenance.
- Closely monitor line & machine performance and intervene online as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs
- Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment installations & modifications
- Update the maintenance management system (CMMS), recording all changes, store transactions made & work carried out
- Troubleshooting using PLC Programs
- Responsible for completion of planned work, daily shift input of all works onto CMMS, parts booked out of stores and control of breakdowns
- Must adhere to a callout Rota system as per company policy
- A suitable qualification in an electrical, instrumentation engineering discipline a distinct advantage.
- Strong fault finding / problem solving skills essential.
- Good reporting skills essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to take lead on maintenance issues and to work independently or as a team member.
- Be flexible in respect of shift changes and to participate in the maintenance procedure as required.
- Responds positively to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Proven track record in your current role is essential.
- The role is varied where both electrical and mechanical skills are required. Candidates who can show an aptitude and ability in both disciplines will have a distinct advantage
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Possess electrical maintenance experience and/or qualifications.
- Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health, and Safety
- Be familiar with planned preventative maintenance
- Experienced in fault finding and problem solving
- Comprehensive Knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC control systems
- Knowledge and experience in Maintenance strategy, Maintenance organisation and systems
Education & Qualifications
- Possess relevant trade qualification Electrical Qualification Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role in regulated manufacturing environment (Post Apprenticeship)
