Description:
The key purpose of the role is to define and implement Master data management processes, policies and procedures through the operation of a central data management team to support SAP, Open Accounts and Awards business users. Manage correct, timely and accurate Master Data maintenance, data quality, data consistency, data enhancements and data governance and compliance within the UD organization. Manage data aspects of companywide projects re the creation and assimilation of new or updated processes and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a Central Master Data team responsible for SAP, Awards and Open Accounts Master data maintenance – to include new data creation and amendments to existing data to support business users within United Drug.
- Recruit, train, support and manage performance of the Master Data team members.
- Ensure accurate and responsive implementation and maintenance of data centrally, including Material, Vendors, Customers, Financial data and several associated data objects and transactions
- Introduce and implement new or updated Master Data processes and relevant documentation/templates as appropriate to streamline flow and ensure ease of adherence to Quality guidelines
- Ensure all team members receive adequate training and are competent on all Master Data transactions in SAP, Awards and Open Account to include adherence to Quality control processes and Financial compliance requirements
- Maintain the central Master Data inbox and ensure co-ordination of daily Master Data activities through allocation and even distribution of workload within team
- Define new change control processes within Master Data remit and co-ordinate implementation of same with relevant business users
- Ensure all Master Data processes and procedures are documented ensuring accuracy and correct revision of SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms etc.
- Co-ordinate the appropriate IT resources to support the data governance organization and ensure compliance with United Drug data governance policies
- Serve as an escalation point from a data issues perspective and resolve United Drug Master Data issues with all business users as required
- Manage ad-hoc and project related Data management requests to ensure governance and compliance are maintained, including provision of test data, testing and supporting documentation as required.
- Apply an approach of continuous improvement to centrally controlled Master Data within United Drug and support the implementation of new and streamlined options for updating data where appropriate within Governance guidelines.
- Introduce new systems and define and refine processes as required to support evolving business requirements affecting Master data maintenance.
