BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit an Materials Science Intern within the Materials Science, Global Capabilities group. Reporting to the Principal Scientist, Materials Science, the Materials Science Intern will support the support life cycle management of raw materials and consumables utilized for biopharmaceuticals commercial manufacturing operations.

 

Key Duties And Responsibilities

 

  • Perform analytical testing of raw and consumable materials using a range of techniques; Microscopy, FTIR, SEM/EDS.
  • Provide backup support to Principal Scientist in the Laboratory analysis for Particle Investigations and deviations.
  • Mastery of material and disposable specifications, SOPs, cGMPs and the know how to work and manage within a regulatory environment.
  • Provides technical aid for investigation and resolution of single-use consumables implementation, deviations, change controls and technical documentation in support to the Principal Scientist and in support of commercial manufacturing at the BMS Cruiserath Large Scale Cell Culture facility.
  • Liaises with Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T), Manufacturing, Quality and ExM organizations, as well as CMOs for Laboratory and Desk based initiatives.
  • Provides process subject matter expertise, representing the Cruiserath site, cross functional team (Manufacturing, Engineering, QA, QC, Regulatory, Supply Chain, etc) for facility fit activities, specification changes, technical assessments, alternate vendor qualifications, change management.
  • The designee can act on behalf or in place of the Immediate Supervisor/ Manager in the full range of Department activities provided the selected Immediate Supervisor/ Manager is satisfied of the capability of the designee to do so and appropriate advance consultation has taken place.
