Description:
The purpose of this post is to support the delivery of a quality histology laboratory service in compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 15189.
Candidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the post, possess:
a) Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University of Dublin / Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street;
b) Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University
College Cork - Cork Institute of Technology course;
c) Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology,
Kevin Street or the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994;
d) Possess Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of
Technology, KevinStreet or Cork Institute of Technology or the Galway/Mayo Institute of
Technology (awarded prior to 1997)
e) Bachelor in Science degree with Honours for Biomedical science (which is recognized as a Health & Care Professions Council, UK (HCPC) approved)
f) A recognised qualification at least equivalent to (A) - (E) above;
Be registered with CORU or be eligible for registration
Be currently registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist
