Recann is recruiting for a Kubernetes Developer / Platform Software Engineer to join a global infrastructure and platform engineering team based in Dublin.
This is a hands-on software engineering opportunity focused on building Kubernetes-native applications, automation and platform tooling to support cloud-based managed services and SaaS environments.
You'll work alongside experienced software engineers, Kubernetes architects and DevOps teams to develop reliable, scalable and secure platform solutions.
We're particularly interested in speaking with software engineers who enjoy coding and automation, have practical Kubernetes experience and are keen to develop their expertise in Golang and cloud-native engineering.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing Kubernetes-native software and automation using Golang (Go).
- Building and maintaining Kubernetes Controllers, Operators and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs).
- Creating software to automate provisioning, configuration, upgrades, scaling and recovery processes.
- Developing reliable, maintainable and well-tested platform software.
- Writing unit, integration and automated tests.
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based deployment processes.
- Working with technologies including Helm, Terraform, Argo CD and Flux.
- Supporting Kubernetes security, including RBAC, secrets management and workload isolation.
- Investigating and resolving Kubernetes deployment and platform automation issues.
- Collaborating with software engineering, DevOps, SRE and security teams.
What We're Looking For
- Commercial experience in software engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps or SRE, typically gained over 3+ years.
- Hands-on development experience with Golang (Go), or strong programming experience with the ability to work effectively in Go.
- Practical experience working with Kubernetes, containers and Linux.
- An understanding of Kubernetes APIs, Controllers, CRDs and reconciliation loops.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and modern software development practices.
- Familiarity with infrastructure and deployment automation tools such as Helm, Terraform, Argo CD or Flux.
- An understanding of Kubernetes security, including RBAC, secrets management and network policies.
- Experience troubleshooting containerised applications and Kubernetes deployments.
