Pool Supervisor

 

Description:

The West Cork Regional Leisure Complex Dunmanway includes a 25-metre swimming pool, toddler’s pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room, disabled changing facilities and gymnasium. The Pool Supervisor will report to the Manager and will assist, supervise and control, where necessary users of the facility. The Pool Supervisor will ensure that all activity areas are ready for use as required both in terms of cleanliness and equipment that is required. The Pool Supervisor will teach and coach as required and ensure that the customer care policy of the facility is always maintained to the highest standards.

The duties may include but are not limited to the following and the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which many be assigned to him/her from time to time and contribute to the development of the post while in the office.

1. The Pool Supervisor will report to the Manager and will assist, supervise and control where necessary users of the facility.

2. He/She will ensure that all activity areas are ready for use as required both in terms of cleanliness and equipment that is required.

4. Management and supervision of the premises and facilities in accordance with all policies of Cork County Council.

5. Deputising for the Pool Manager as required.

6. Managing the staff of the facility and ensuring adherence to all policies of Cork County Council in the operation of the complex.

7. To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety legislation and Cork County Council Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

8. Supervising, directing and controlling all staff which may be appointed or assigned to the Complex from time to time, including the preparation of all time-tables to ensure that the complex is adequately staffed at all times, the preparation and maintenance of attendance, training and Health and Safety registers as required.

9. Setting up, changing and storing equipment, furniture and any apparatus as required by the Programme of the complex.

10. Promoting the complex and ensuring maximum use of the facilities and ensuring the existing level of use for swimming classes continue.

11. Supervise and control entrance areas, the foyer, pool hall, and other areas and generally assist the Manager in furthering the successful operation of the facility.

12. To effect minor repairs to equipment and to maintain all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

13. Administer First Aid where appropriate.

14. To receive supplies and equipment, recording and storage of same.

15. Supervision and lifeguarding of all swimmers.

16. Cleaning of pool surrounds, decks, changing rooms, toilets and other areas.

17. Supervision of changing rooms.

18. Reception duties as instructed by the Manager.

19. Responsibility for the carrying and handling of monies.

20. Water testing and recording of results.

21. Report writing for accidents and incidents, etc.

22. Any other duties, which from time to time, may be allocated by the Manager.

23. Enforcing the rules and regulations of the facility and monitoring the behaviour of all patrons.

24. The Pool Supervisor will be required to update his/her Life Saving, Swimming Teaching and First Aid qualifications at the prescribed intervals.

25. The Council reserves the right to change and / or alter the duties of the Pool Supervisor as required.
