Procurement Project Specialist

Description:

As Procurement Project Specialist, you’ll help build that commercial foundation — identifying suppliers, running tenders, evaluating proposals and negotiating the contracts that support the project.

The decisions you make will help determine who contributes to the build, how they are contracted and how the project moves from plans into delivery.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Engineering and Commercial teams, taking requirements from the initial brief through sourcing, negotiation and contract award.

Your work will become part of something tangible: a major fibre network being built to support Ireland for years to come.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Source the Suppliers Behind the Network: Identify and appoint the companies needed to deliver infrastructure, civils, fibre and specialist services.
  • Own Sourcing Projects: Take requirements from initial brief through tender, negotiation and contract award.
  • Influence Supplier Selection: Assess supplier capability, pricing and commercial proposals and recommend who the project should appoint.
  • Negotiate Commercial Terms: Lead supplier negotiations and secure agreements that work for the project.
  • Shape Procurement Early: Help establish sourcing approaches and supplier relationships as the project develops.

What You’ll Do

  • Define Requirements: Work with project teams to establish exactly what needs to be sourced.
  • Identify Suppliers: Research the market and build a strong pool of potential suppliers.
  • Run Tenders: Manage RFQs and RFPs from issue through evaluation.
  • Evaluate Bids: Compare capability, pricing and commercial proposals.
  • Negotiate Terms: Lead supplier negotiations and agree commercial arrangements.
  • Award Contracts: Support supplier selection and put contracts in place.

What You’ll Have

  • Procurement Experience: Strong experience at Procurement Specialist, Senior Procurement Specialist, Procurement Manager or similar level. Your current or most recent role should be procurement-focused.
  • Tendering & Negotiation: Experience taking requirements through tender, evaluation, negotiation and award.
  • Commercial Judgement: Confident assessing suppliers, pricing and commercial terms.
  • Project Experience: Comfortable working with project teams and senior stakeholders. Infrastructure, utilities, construction, engineering or telecommunications experience would be beneficial. CIPS would be an advantage, but strong procurement experience is the priority.
