Parsons is anticipating the need for an exceptionally talented QA/QC Field Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead site-based quality assurance and quality control activities on a major rail infrastructure project, ensuring effective implementation of the Quality Management System and full compliance with design, regulatory, and client requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Quality Lead in implementing the Quality Management Plan and associated site processes.
- Reviewing contractors’ Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure compliance and fitness for purposes.
- Identifying witnesses and hold points during ITP review, ensuring they are reflected in contractors’ look ahead programmes and that timely notifications are issued.
- Conducting site inspections and surveillance to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Managing and maintaining progressive quality documentation, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), inspection records, and test results.
- Reviewing contractors’ monthly quality reports and KPIs, validating them prior to submission to the Quality Lead.
- Liaising with contractors, designers, and construction teams to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Supporting Root Cause Analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Assisting with the onboarding and induction of contractor quality personnel.
- Supporting readiness for internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections.
- Providing regular quality metrics and reports to the Quality Lead, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Promoting a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement across the site.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience, including QA/QC roles on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable construction and engineering standards.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and a strong understanding of ITPs, method statements, and construction quality processes.
- Experience in transport infrastructure projects (metro/rail preferred).
- Familiarity with Irish and EU construction regulatory requirements.
- Experience using digital quality management systems or tools.
- Internal or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001) is desirable.
