Quality Engineering Intern

Quality Engineers are actively involved in making the voice of quality heard throughout our scrum teams. Quality Engineers drive the team towards continuous awareness on quality and collectively present status of the product readiness for production release. Each of our internships is focused on a business problem, project or body of research where you will be working with industry thought leaders in your field of practice.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The internship requires strong technical and communications skills.
  • This is a hands on role will have responsibility related to technical implementations working alongside a team of engineers, test engineers and product stakeholders.
  • The intern will participate in all phases of development from definition and design through implementation, debugging, testing and deployment to ensure all work is to the highest standards.
  • The intern will support component design, development and maintenance, have responsibilities for code reviews and technical quality standards within the project team.
  • Actively participate in the Scrum team Agile ceremonies like: sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint retrospective, sprint review, backlog grooming, review delivery readiness, etc.

Quality Engineer Intern Knowledge & Experience:

  • Some testing experience desirable but most important is a willingness to learn and displaying and bringing the right attitude. Experience in unit and functional test automation frameworks like junit, testng, webdriver, protractor, webdriver.io or similar would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Object Orientated programming is expected and will be a plus to have development experience in languages and frameworks like ReactJS, Angular, NodeJS, Java, Scala, Groovy.
  • Experience of working within Continuous Integration environments using tools like: Jenkins, Bamboo, Teamcity etc. environments would be advantageous.
  • Devops skills, knowledge and awareness of build pipelines, infrastructure as code, microservices, monitoring and alerting are all great to have but not essential.
  • A good understanding of Computer Science and Algorithms is expected.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with fluency in English essential
