The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, organised, and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a newly evolved role that combines yacht club administration with hands-on events management. The successful candidate will work closely with our Sailing Manager to deliver an exceptional experience for our members and visitors. We are particularly keen to hear from recent graduates in marine studies, leisure management, sports management, events management, or related disciplines who are eager to build a career in the sailing and leisure industry. This role offers real responsibility from day one, mentorship from our experienced team, and a clear pathway for progression within the club.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Sailing Administration

  • Assist the Sailing Manager in coordinating the club's training and racing calendar
  • Manage coaching and training administration, seasonal parking and activity bookings
  • Liaise with race officers, volunteers, and class associations
  • Maintain and update sailing programme documentation
  • Support the administration of the club's training and junior sailing programmes
  • Act as a point of contact for members on sailing-related queries

 

Events Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of club events including regattas, social sailing events, prizegivings, and member functions
  • Support the Sailing Manger with event coordination from initial planning through to post-event review Liaise with suppliers, sponsors, and external stakeholders
  • Promote events through club communications, social media, and member newsletters
  • Assist with corporate sailing days and visitor hospitality
  • Support the broader events calendar including social and fundraising events

 

General Club Administration

  • Maintain accurate member records and assist with membership administration
  • Support the front-of-house function and respond to general club enquiries
  • Assist with preparation of reports and committee documentation as required
  • Contribute to the club's communications including website updates and social media content
