Description:
You will lead consultancy projects and teams across high-risk and highly regulated sectors. You will own client accounts, manage project teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver expert EHS solutions tailored to client needs. You will need to plan, organise, direct and control the consultancy team. The right person will always ensure commercial performance and quality of delivery and client satisfaction.
The role blends strategic leadership, operational effectiveness, technical quality control, team co-ordination, client care, commercial performance and business development always.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management
- In charge of all planning, organising, directing and controlling the consultancy team
- Lead, mentor, and develop consultancy teams to deliver high-quality services
- Oversee workload planning, performance management, and professional development
Client delivery and relationship management
- Act as the senior point of contact for key clients, building long-term trusted relationships
- Oversee planning and delivery of consultancy projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance
- Provide expert advice on EHS legislation, standards, and best practice
Technical excellence
- Lead audits, risk assessments, and EHS management system reviews
- Support clients with frameworks such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, Seveso/COMAH, PSDP/PSCS, ATEX, and process safety
- Develop EHS strategies tailored to diverse industries
Business development
- Identify and shape opportunities with existing and new clients
- Collaborate with directors on proposals, tenders, and service development
Key Requirements
Education and qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or related field (essential)
- Postgraduate qualification (desirable)
- Chartered membership of IOSH (desirable)
Experience
- 8 to 10 years of professional EHS consultancy or senior in-house experience
- Proven team leadership and client account management
- Strong knowledge of Irish and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Track record delivering projects in sectors such as pharma, life sciences, construction, or energy
