Description:
As Senior Cost Manager you will be a key member of the Cost Management / Quantity Surveying function. You will oversee cost planning, estimation, cost control and financial reporting across major projects. You’ll work closely with project teams, M&E specialists, design consultants, contractors and clients, ensuring cost efficiencies, risk mitigation and value delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost estimation and budgeting for large, high‐value projects; develop cost plans at various design stages.
- Monitor and control costs as design and construction progress; track changes, manage variations.
- Produce cashflow forecasts and financial reporting; provide timely, accurate cost information to support decision making.
- Identify cost risks, perform scenario / sensitivity analysis; propose mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and subcontractors; negotiate rates / contracts.
- Work with M&E cost specialists, surveyors and other internal teams / external consultants.
- Support due diligence, value engineering, cost benchmarking and reporting for bids/potential projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, sustainability / regulatory requirements and firm’s policies.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in cost management / quantity surveying on large commercial / complex projects.
- Proven track record delivering international or multi‐region projects.
- Strong technical knowledge: cost estimating, cost control, value engineering, contract variation, procurement.
- Excellent commercial awareness; ability to think strategically about cost vs programme vs risk trade‐offs.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; able to use digital tools / software relevant to cost control / estimating.
- Excellent communication skills: able to present cost data & forecasts to senior stakeholders.
- Leadership ability; able to mentor junior staff / manage parts of cost team.
