What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Data Scientist on the Customer Analytics Data Science team, you will develop analytical solutions to deliver enhanced customer contact and practical insights based on data analysis. You'll build propensity models, forecasts, and proof of concept models as part of a collaborative and innovative team who strive to support customer contact with the right message for the customer at the right time.

In this Role, you will

• Use advanced data science methods to transform complex problems into compelling marketing and business solutions
• Propose and build innovative proof of concept solutions using pioneering AI capabilities
• Identify and integrate new internal and external data sources to improve model accuracy.
• Use data visualisation tools to explain your results simply and succinctly to business audiences.

You have a very strong track record of developing solutions to solve complex business problems using analysis and predictive models. You manage and analyse large data sets with analytic rigour by using the usual toolset of statistical and machine learning methods, you have a good understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms and strategies for data processing, data/text mining and artificial intelligence and you are able to implement them in business context.

You have a demonstrated ability to translate data analysis into compelling stories and practical insights, and of using data to influence decision making.

You are passionate about using data to create positive interactions with our customers. You are a highly motivated and driven individual looking to make a major contribution to the success of analytics within the Bank of Ireland Group.

You are collaborative, and enjoy working within a team of data scientists, while being able to own a project and drive its delivery. You are self-motivated, innovative and enthusiastic and have exceptional communication skills.

You have experience with the following:

• Python, R, or SAS for analysis and machine learning
• SQL for data extraction
• Tableau, Power BI or similar for data visualisation
