Description:
A Senior Engineer is required for a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major public realm and civic infrastructure project in North Dublin/Meath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing organisation and take a senior role in the successful delivery of high-quality civil engineering works across a busy project environment.
Reporting to the Contracts Manager / Contracts Director, the successful candidate will have strong project and site-based experience within civil engineering or construction and will be confident managing engineering activities, site teams, subcontractors, programme, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the delivery of daily site operations across civil engineering works
- Coordinate multidisciplinary site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Monitor project progress, programme, quality, and resources
- Support the Contracts Manager / Director in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Manage and monitor construction programmes using Asta Powerproject or equivalent
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Support the management of construction contracts and project documentation
- Assist with resolving technical, construction, programme, and contractual issues
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and H&S requirements
- Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress updates to senior management
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline at Level 8 (QQI) or internationally recognised equivalent
- Minimum 8 years’ post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years in a project management or senior site management role
- Proven track record of delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects on time and within budget
- Strong working knowledge of Irish construction contracts, including GCCC, NEC3/4, RIAI, or equivalent
- Proficiency in Asta Powerproject or equivalent programme management software
- Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors
- Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Full clean driving licence
- Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland
