Senior Site Engineer

You'll join a leading Irish building contractor with offices in Dublin and Galway, known for delivering complex, high‑profile projects across multiple sectors. These include civic and amenity developments, conservation and restoration, commercial fit‑outs, residential schemes, healthcare facilities, pharma/industrial plants, education buildings, and tourism and leisure projects. The company has a proven track record in delivering landmark projects, including critical national infrastructure, and operates under ISO‑certified management systems for quality, safety, and environmental performance.

Your new role

As Senior Engineer, you will act as the technical lead on site, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance throughout the construction process. You'll work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager, coordinating subcontractors and liaising with design teams to maintain programme and safety standards.Key responsibilities include:

• Setting out and surveying works using appropriate instruments and maintaining accurate records.
• Preparing and implementing method statements, inspection and test plans, and quality documentation.
• Coordinating technical information flow between design teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and ISO‑aligned systems.
• Supporting programme delivery by providing accurate progress data and look‑ahead planning.
• Assisting with BIM‑enabled workflows and digital delivery processes.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role with a main contractor.
• Strong technical skills in setting out, temporary works coordination, and quality assurance.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and manage RFIs and submittals.
• Knowledge of ISO‑aligned safety and quality systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
