The Integration & Interoperability group at Bentley Systems is dedicated to unifying global infrastructure software into an open, data-centric ecosystem. Our mission is to build robust, scalable systems that allow complex engineering data to flow seamlessly across our platforms and major third-party tools.
As a Senior Software Engineer in our Dublin hub, you will contribute to the architecture making this cross-platform interoperability possible, working across desktop and cloud-based applications and services to enhance existing features. You will also create new capabilities for real-time, multi-user collaborations on large datasets and infrastructure models, alongside APIs and data pipelines that connect the worlds infrastructure dataflows
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex, full-stack interoperability solutions.
- Take full ownership of major features and system-level designs, ensuring they meet scalability, reliability, and performance requirements.
- Act as a technical leader and mentor for junior and mid-level colleagues, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Drive research and evaluation of new technologies, making recommendations that shape the team's technical strategy.
- Architect and implement robust testing strategies (unit, integration, system) to ensure the highest quality deliverables.
- Define and document best practices, architectural patterns, and solutions for the team.
- Spearhead technical design discussions and retrospectives within a self-organizing agile team to continually improve effectiveness and velocity.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in software engineering; designing, implementing, and shipping high-quality, scalable software.
- Expertise with Object Orientated programming languages such as TypeScript a C#, C++ or Java.
- Expert understanding of programming concepts, design patterns (SOLID, OOP), and architectural patterns.
- Proven experience leading the architecture and development of complex web services and APIs.
- Extensive experience with modern testing and mocking frameworks, and a commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Mastery of modern development tools including Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, and Azure Pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives.
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or a related field.
