Description:
We are partnered with a major global technology and telecommunications leader with an established Research & Development center in Ireland. They are looking to expand their presence with an Expert Rendering Engineer to take a leadership role in their Game Engine Team. This is an exciting opportunity to research and co-develop a next-generation graphics engine focused on optimizing real-time performance for mobile games and specialized mobile GPU architectures.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Dublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities for this Expert Rendering Engineer position:
- Lead a team responsible for the development and architecture of real-time rendering systems.
- Take hands-on ownership of core rendering architecture, including advanced material systems, programmable pipelines, and runtime performance optimization.
- Research and implement cutting-edge mobile computer graphics techniques (e.g., from SIGGRAPH, Eurographics, etc.) to advance the state-of-the-art.
- Stay informed on emerging commercial engine technologies (e.g., ray tracing, Nanite) and devise technical implementation plans for production use.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders and leadership on project planning, resource allocation, and technical direction.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners/academia to align technical innovation with product goals.
Key Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience with C/C++, demonstrating a proven ability to architect and maintain large-scale, complex systems.
- 4+ years of experience with at least one modern graphics API in a commercial project (Vulkan, Metal, or Direct3D 12).
- Strong proficiency in Shader programming (HLSL/GLSL/Metal) and a solid understanding of 3D math (linear algebra).
- Solid understanding of modern rendering techniques, such as ray tracing, global illumination, or GPU-driven rendering.
- Hands-on experience with commercial game engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot) and relevant debugging tools (RenderDoc, Pix, NVIDIA NSight).
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams to deliver large, complex projects.
