National College of Ireland is expanding its Software Development Team and are looking to recruit a Junior Software Developer. This is an opportunity to be involved in developing the Colleges computer application, integration, and reporting services.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to adapt and learn. The role will involve working closely with business owners to understand their processes to identify appropriate solutions. This position is based in Dublin and allows for some remote working.

Software development to meet the College's computer application, integration, reporting, and customisation needs.

  • Creating and maintaining support documentation relative to software development activities
  • Analysing and documenting business processes
  • 2nd level support
  • Researching solutions to problems
  • Requirements gathering across the College
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to explain complex technologies to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Exposure to public cloud (MS Azure, Amazon AWS, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science
  • Fluent English both written and oral
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a software development role or in a role with a significant proportion of software development.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with interacting with web-based APIs
  • Scripting experience, e.g., PowerShell,
  • Office 365 experience
  • VISA: Candidate must hold a valid Work Visa
  • Language: Fluent English both written and oral
