Software Engineer

Description:

The Wireless Communications Laboratory at Tyndall National Institute in Dublin is looking for a software engineer to help build a product for the high-potential start-up project HyperPath with substantial financial and development backing of Enterprise Ireland Commercialization Fund (Invited Track).

The objective of HyperPath is to develop novel technology for enabling Ultra Reliable Low-Latency Wireless Communications over multiple unreliable wireless links, and to commercialize it in the space of remote control of unmanned vehicles and industrial factory automation.

Purpose of Role

• Develop, test and demonstrate cutting-edge technology for enabling Ultra Reliable Low-Latency Wireless Communications using the novel approach of transport-layer multi-connectivity
• Carry out trials with multiple industry partners to validate the solution in the space of remote control of unmanned vehicles and industrial factory automation
• More specifically, we are looking for creative and motivated software developer with experience in developing commercial-grade solutions, and who has an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in high-tech start-ups scene.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist a team of researchers developing a pre-commercial concept into commercial-grade high-performance software
• Integrate evolving customer requirements, and solve identified fundamental challenges
• Collect measurement data for performance optimization and design evolution
• Independently work with industrial partners on prototype testing, demonstrations and validation in real-world deployments
• Create high-quality documentation for the software
• Ensure compliance with Tyndall’s Quality Management and Health & Safety standards.
• Additional duties as may be reasonably required within the scope and level of the post.
