Software Equipment Engineer

 

Description:

  • Collaborate closely with client Process Engineers and Operations Representatives to conduct process engineering design for Pharma processing projects.
  • Design and implement DeltaV control systems tailored for the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Take on a technical leadership role, overseeing the work and deliverables of the System Integrator, including technical standards, work processes, module templates, and DeltaV integration approaches to MES.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with System Integrator Engineers and Developers, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
  • Act as a technical coach and mentor to client Automation Area Leads, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team capabilities.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and DeltaV application software reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Proactively collaborate with the Computer System Validation Engineer to ensure all deliverables meet project validation and documentation requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety requirements and procedures relevant to the role.

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation Process Control, Computer Science, or Software Engineering (other engineering degrees considered based on experience).
  • Extensive technical proficiency and operational experience with automation systems, with knowledge of ABB DCS systems considered advantageous.
  • Comprehensive expertise in data historian and reporting systems, computer system validation, and control system/shop floor integration, with some exposure to PLC/SCADA and BMS systems beneficial.
  • Strong understanding and application of S88 batch standards, coupled with experience in facility commissioning and startup.
  • Demonstrated leadership in implementing and supporting automation solutions, particularly within a GMP environment and during regulatory inspections.
  • Exceptional project execution skills, including planning, scheduling, and routine/support work management.
  • Previous experience in mentoring and coaching junior engineers, coupled with proficiency in reviewing and approving technical and compliance documentation.
  • Effective contractor and vendor management skills, along with familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodology and demonstrable problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, paired with a deep understanding of pharmaceutical and manufacturing processes.
