Description:
The Storeperson in Ward Automation has responsibility for ordering, receiving and storing all goods in for the company.
There is an emphasis on continuous improvement and lean principles; Identifying and rolling out improvements within the stores and within the ERP system.
The role contributes significantly to the continued success of Ward Automation.
Responsibilities
- Purchasing components (electrical/ pneumatic/ mechanical) for machines produced by the organisation.
- Procurement/Purchasing of engineering consumables and tools as required.
- Ensure all materials are received and checked.
- Responsible for the storage of incoming goods.
- Preparation and kitting of components for different machines.
- Operate forklift to load and unload all deliveries/ shipments.
- Responsible for returns of any non-conforming parts and manage goods return as required.
- Organise collection and shipping of machines and complete documentation/ customs declarations.
- Obtaining best prices and discounts from suppliers.
- Constantly monitor orders/ deliveries and foresee any delays as early as possible and communicate any delays to project team. Work on solutions for any deliveries to remedy as soon as possible.
- Monitor ERP purchasing system and suggest and implement improvements to the process.
- Implement Lean Techniques such as 5S in the stores environment.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace and storage system.
- Communicate any potential safety risks or non-conformance observations.
Key Skills
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to work on own initiative.
- Proficient IT skills (MS office) and experience using ERP systems is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail & time management.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
