Structural Design Engineer

 

Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural design aspects of projects while leveraging primary structural engineering skills to deliver on multi-disciplinary projects in conjunction with strong technical competency.

As a design engineer, you will be working closely with Senior Project Engineers and directors on the delivery of various civil/structural projects. Your work will be carried out in accordance with the company's ISO procedures. Depending on experience there may also be an opportunity to, mentor and develop the skillset of junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Control of the internal design process.
  • Undertake structural design elements for major projects.
  • Work closely with principal designers.
  • Assist in the production of drawings and reports.
  • Client liaison
  • Contract administration
  • Technical surveys and report
  • Site inspections
  • Project administration
  • Prepare and coordinate structural specifications.
  • Attending meetings and collaborating with architects, design consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Honours degree in Civil or Structural engineering
  • Minimum of 3 Years experience post-graduation
  • Member of Engineers Ireland (IEI) or the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE)
  • Should be familiar with all aspects of Engineering design to Eurocodes and Building Regulations.
  • Experience in the design and coordination of civil & and structural projects
  • Experience in the inspection of on-site construction works.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organisational skills
  • Proficient in the use of civil & and structural design software
  • Self-motivated & and career-focused.
