Substation Electrical Design Engineer Lead

Team Lead and Substation Technical Expert within Engineering Team. Ownership of electrical substation design: primary design, secondary design, design calculations, procurement specifications. Lead team members, monitor progress vs costs & programme. Review & approve team submissions in advance of issue, identifying value engineering opportunities where possible

Support team members in projects as assigned throughout each contract. Take ownership & actively manage substation design projects when required. Identify design risks and propose mitigation techniques.

Qualifications and experience:

Degree in Electrical Engineering. 7+ years hands on experience. Good knowledge of software: AutoCAD, ePlan, MS Office, (experience with design studies and cable design software would be an advantage). Good knowledge of the substation, utilities and renewables sector. Good understanding of the design / construction interfacing requirements. Good client facing skills. Able to work independently & to manage a team. Experience with design studies and cable design software would be an advantage. Familiarity with ESB/Eirgrid specifications & design requirements an advantage Open to innovation and collaboration. Proactive with the ability to think ahead.
