A leading international investment firm is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join its high-performing technology team. You’ll work within a talented, collaborative group that supports key platforms across trading, risk, research, and investor operations — all essential to keeping the business performing at its best.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary contact for application issues, taking ownership to troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.
- Provide support for core trade order management and reconciliation systems.
- Monitor and optimise application performance to ensure seamless operation.
- Manage SFTP connections, IP whitelists, SSH keys, and perform PGP file encryption/decryption.
- Validate software updates and releases before deployment to production.
- Document resolutions and assist in user training for internal systems.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in application support, ideally within financial services.
- Strong SQL expertise — including joins, functions, triggers, and CTEs.
- Solid experience with SFTP management.
- A sound understanding of fixed income, equities, options, and FX products.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools such as ActiveBatch or Tidal.
- Background in supporting front-office trading and back-office applications.
- Basic scripting ability in Python and exposure to .NET debugging.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Previous buy-side experience is advantageous but not required.
