As part of our passionate and collaborative team, the Audience Engagement and Communications Coordinator will play an important role in shaping the future of the organisation within a dynamic, hands-on working environment. This role is suited to someone who has strong administrative competencies, is proactive, organised, and comfortable balancing a range of responsibilities, while contributing to projects and services valued by artists, students, researchers, and communities across Ireland and beyond.

 

The role combines core administrative responsibilities with leadership in communications and community engagement, ensuring that programmes are delivered efficiently while fostering meaningful connections with diverse audiences and communities. Working across departments, the post holder will lead on communications planning and implementation, ensuring clear, consistent, and accessible messaging that strengthens relationships with audiences, partners, and stakeholders, and supports the visibility and impact of PhotoIreland’s portfolio of projects, playing a key role in strengthening our position as a leading organisation.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an organised and proactive administrator with strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive cultural participation. They will be confident in managing multiple priorities, coordinating projects, and working collaboratively with artists, partners, communities, and colleagues.

 

The post holder should have experience in communications, audience development, and community engagement, with the ability to plan and deliver campaigns across digital and traditional platforms. They should demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to represent PhotoIreland professionally in public-facing contexts.

 

The post holder will contribute to the organisation’s operational effectiveness and public profile with the objective of strengthening community relationships, increasing participation, and ensuring clear and consistent communication of PhotoIreland’s artistic, educational, and public programmes.
