Description:
SciPro are supporting a Pharmaceutical client with their search for an Automation Project Manager to join them on an initial 12-month contract. This is an onsite role in County Wicklow.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading automation initiatives, ensuring reliable and compliant operation of control systems, and driving continuous improvements across our production facilities in line with GMP, FDA, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead automation strategy, development, and implementation for pharmaceutical production systems, with a focus on Siemens PCS 7 DCS.
- Manage automation projects from design through commissioning, qualification, and handover.
- Provide subject matter expertise in Siemens PCS 7, including architecture, configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Ensure systems are compliant with cGMP, GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process Engineering, IT, Quality, Validation, Maintenance, and Operations) to support manufacturing objectives.
- Lead a small team of automation engineers and contractors, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight.
- Develop and maintain automation documentation, including URS, FDS, SDS, FAT/SAT protocols, and validation documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in automation, process control, data integrity, and digitalization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Oversee integration of PCS 7 with MES, historians, and other enterprise systems.
