Board Director

Description:

Ideal candidates will bring strategic insight, strong governance awareness, and a passion for community development. Experience in the not-for-profit or sport sector is desirable, along with a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the values of Olympic Handball Ireland. An understanding of the legal responsibilities of a company director in Ireland is also an asset.

Key Responsibilities of Directors Include:

• Acting in accordance with the Constitution of Olympic Handball Ireland and the law
• Maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency
• Contributing meaningfully at Board meetings and taking shared responsibility for decisions
• Acting independently and in the best interests of OHI, not as a representative of any other group
• Preparing adequately for meetings and participating in committees or events as needed
• Upholding confidentiality and data protection obligations
• Avoiding conflicts of interest and adhering to OHI’s code of conduct
• Supporting and holding staff accountable through the CEO, without interfering in daily operations
• Championing OHI’s mission, values and the development of handball across Ireland
