Finance Apprenticeship

We are offering a great opportunity to join Baxter Healthcare on our Finance Apprenticeship programme. This is a two-year apprenticeship programme run in conjunction with Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) and SOLAS.

The apprenticeship programme will begin in September 2023, however, we are looking for someone to join our Finance team until you begin studying later in the year.

You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of Finance and Accounting, while working alongside experienced professionals. This programme will involve one day in college and four days on site in Baxter Castlebar.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of financial transactions, such as manufacturing transactions and overhead accruals
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close activities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Conduct financial analysis and research to support decision-making
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Provide support to other members of the finance and accounting team as needed

Requirements:

  • The apprenticeship programme is open to recent school leavers, graduates, Leaving Certificate students, and mature students
  • Applicants must have achieved 300 CAO points (or equivalent), with a pass (O6/D3) in Leaving Certificate English and either Mathematics or Accounting
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and develop new skills
