The successful candidate will support the winning of high-profile projects that deliver critical infrastructure, while gaining exposure to major projects, tender strategy, bid management, and the wider pre-construction process.
As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a highly organised and motivated M&E Estimator to join a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for Mechanical & Electrical works.
- Develop and issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation of associated contract documentation.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement of M&E packages.
- Collaborate with the engineering design team to develop competitive and cost-effective tender solutions.
- Review and evaluate engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Undertake value engineering assessments to identify opportunities for optimisation and alternative solutions.
- Prepare detailed material take-offs and Mechanical & Electrical cost estimates.
- Assess and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, recommending the most suitable technical and commercial solutions.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of high-quality technical tender documentation.
- Review contract conditions and evaluate the commercial and contractual implications of proposed amendments.
- Participate in tender adjudication, pricing reviews, and post-tender negotiations to support successful bid outcomes.
- Hold a degree in M&E Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering – or a related discipline.
Required Skills & Experience
The preferred candidate shall:
- Relevant third-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience in estimating and cost planning for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Sound technical knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical equipment commonly used within the water industry.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word; experience with estimating software is desirable.
- Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence required.
- Authorised to work in Ireland or eligible to secure the appropriate employment permit.
