National Youth Officer

Applications are invited for the position of National Youth Officer with Fianna Fáil. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in politics and within a large, dynamic political organisation. The successful candidate will lead the development and co-ordination of campaigns targeted at young members and supporters. He/she will also be responsible for the day-to-day management, support and development of Ógra Fianna Fáil. The successful candidate must have a high level of understanding of the Irish political system and demonstrate their willingness to work with colleagues and volunteers to strengthen Ógra.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring Ógra Fianna Fáil is a vibrant, dynamic political organisation for its members and remains at the forefront of youth politics in Ireland
• Providing administrative support to Ógra Fianna Fáil
• Working closely with the wider organisation and colleagues to develop and promote campaigns with particular emphasis on, and relevance to, young people
• Supporting and developing relevant digital campaigns and working with the digital team on same
• Organising outreach events for young people
• Connecting the wider Party units with younger members
• Planning, organisation and executing recruitment campaigns annually
• Facilitating interaction between Ógra and the wider organisation
• Providing administrative and management support to Ógra Fianna Fáil
• Non-executive membership of the Ógra Central Officer Board
• Providing election support, as appropriate
• Other responsibilities as specified by the General Secretary

Essential skills and experience:

· A deep understanding of understanding of the Irish political landscape

· Campaigning experience, particularly in relation to electoral campaigns

· Experience with digital campaigning

· Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, personal resilience and the ability to work as part of a team, under pressure and achieving targets within a given deadline

· Building and maintaining relationships

· Understanding of safeguarding protocols
