Description:
My client is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join its actuarial function. This role will support a range of actuarial, regulatory, modelling, and client servicing activities across life and pensions operations.
The successful candidate will contribute to technical projects, policy calculations, model validation, and actuarial reporting, while collaborating closely with stakeholders across finance, risk, operations, and technology teams.
Both experienced candidates and junior actuarial professionals progressing through actuarial exams are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support policy administration and illustration systems.
- Provide actuarial input into business and regulatory projects, including calculation design, testing, and implementation.
- Review and validate liability cashflows and actuarial calculations.
- Support resolution of customer and administration-related actuarial queries and escalations.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of actuarial models, reserves, capital calculations, and reporting tools.
- Prepare documentation and testing for model governance and validation requirements.
- Improve actuarial processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams across actuarial, finance, risk, audit, treasury, and operations.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Progress toward actuarial qualification (IFoA or equivalent).
- Experience within life assurance, pensions, or broader financial services.
- Understanding of actuarial modelling, policy calculations, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with VBA, Python, and SQL preferred.
- Exposure to actuarial modelling systems or reporting frameworks is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
