Software Engineering Manager

My Dublin-based client is a market leader in the provision of core systems for health and life insurance across the US, EU and Asia, scaling rapidly off the back of their launch of a suite of end-to-end SaaS products in the insurance space. They are looking for a talented hands-on Software Engineering Manager to work within their Cloud Infrastructure Team to take an active involvement in strategy shaping, risk management, people and line management as well as software craft.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will display a strong customer focus while working closely with product and cloud automation teams to ensure that software delivered is fit-for-purpose and meets non-functional requirements. Working closely with Program and Product Managers, you will lead and develop globally-distributed teams while tracking software economics, cost, quality and effectiveness, acting as a driver to develop fully automated solutions and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Experience:

• Demonstrable experience implementing modern DevOps techniques to develop scalable and secure public cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Extensive experience in enterprise software engineering environments with exposure to the complete software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge and understanding of continuous integration and deployment.
• Proven track record of leading and coaching high-performing, multi-discipline teams.
• Experience designing technically robust and automated solutions.
• Ability to manage and prioritise delivery deadlines across multiple scrum teams (sprint and release planning, estimation and risk management and technical components).
• Experience and certification in Agile Scrum capacities or similar.
