Description:
itContracting are currently seeking applicants for a Solution Architect. This is a day contract position of one year duration, which further possible extensions, located with our finance client in Dublin. This is a hybrid role (2 days required on-site).
Responsibilities:
- Carry out activities as noted under the oversight of the IT project manager(s), and solution architecture line manager,
- Lead the solution design activities with the IT project/CD team and partners to shape solution options, providing appropriate challenge to stakeholders and influencing decisions;
- Lead the development of the solution design and design documentation in line with the scope of the project and in compliance with architectural strategies (vision and road map) and principles, taking that design through architectural governance;
- Carry out due diligence in identifying the preferred solution(s) and adhering to the client's policies and standards in the areas of security, technology, infrastructure, service delivery and quality assurance in order to ensure business solutions bring real value to the organisation;
- Support the preparation of functional, and lead the preparation of non-functional requirements providing guidance to the product owner and other project stakeholders in the definition and prioritisation of those requirements;
- Build and maintain relationships with other architects, IT delivery, other IT stakeholders and our partners in order to influence decisions made in respect of solution design and delivery as required;
- Work with Project Managers on developing key task input for project plans, estimating work effort, and in the development and management of the project’s risk log.
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience in Design & Architecture with a background in Solution Development
- Banking/Finance experience desirable
- Strong and demonstrable experience of Solution Design and Architecture providing technical solutions to business needs, across the technology layers (database, backend, integration, and UX);
- Strong interpersonal skills and senior business and IT stakeholder engagement skills;
- Ability to produce concise, accurate solution designs subject to architecture governance, which align with architectural strategy and which meet business requirements
- Experience across some or all technologies in used preferred – Microsoft stack - .Net, MS SQL Server and MS Dynamics 365, and Angular.
- Knowledge of architectural modelling tools and frameworks such as EA Sparx & TOGAF would be beneficial.
- Experience of the MS Azure Platform services, the design of cloud native business solutions, cloud hybrid solutions or the migration of solutions from on-premises to cloud would be beneficial.
